The defeat for Italy debut in England's World Cup was not seen by Roy Hodgson as a huge problem for the rest of the competition. Despite the negative result, the coach of Team Inglês praised the performance of his players in Amazonia Arena in Manaus, and was convinced he did everything he could to reach them: - It was a very disappointing result really. It's hard to have a positive outlook when you lose. We did a lot of good things, some individual performances were very good, but unfortunately took the second goal. As much as we tried, we could not have the quality needed to make that goal. But the players gave their all and did their best. Now we have to raise your head and see the next two games - said at the press conference after the game. Hodgson also praised the performance of two athletes in particular the opposing team, Pirlo and De Rossi, as well as Italy's Cesare Prandelli: - They are very difficult. In the second half they played very well. The Pirlo and De Rossi are excellent players, very experienced. We have to take my hat off to this team, but we played well against them.

The players that stood out from the side of England were Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling, who showed speed and offensiveness.Hodgson added some more names to the list: - The Sterling was great. The Sturridge was also excellent. The Barkley, when he came, it was very good. Jack Wilshere has shown a good job. None of our players let me down, did not disappoint the country. Only failed to score the equalizer. debut With the defeat, the England ranks third in Group D of the World Cup, behind Costa Rica and Italy. Uruguay is the flashlight due to goal difference. The next opponent is the English Celeste own, next Thursday, at 19h, in São Paulo.
