For the midfielder, two major reasons were responsible for the poor outcome: the short time with which Chileans goals left, and squandered several chances in the game for Australia, especially in the second stage. The final 45 minutes, in the words of the captain, were best for the Socceroos.
- It was hard to take two goals in less than 14 minutes, but our team believes in the coach's job. We press in the second stage, when it was still 2-1, and the second if we did, maybe we could bring the game to us - said the athlete, in an interview with the Australian newspaper Herald Sun

The athlete also said the outcome of the match does not match what was the outlook of the game.According Jedinak, the score 3-1 to Chile was unfair, and that even in defeat, he felt proud of his companions.
- I can not blame my colleagues for the defeat at various points in the game were better than Chile. But it is how you react, knew the importance of a goal on the first step, and seek the second.
