The environment does not seem to be the best in Greece after defeat 3-0 to Colombia, the debut in the World Cup. According to Sport24.gr site, Maniatis defender and midfielder Tzavellas quarreled and were not little to blows on the last Tuesday in Aracaju, during part of the workout closed to the press. The confusion would have started after Maniatis demanded more attention Tzavellas, who responded with insults and began a more heated discussion. Also according to the publication, Karagounis and Kone stepped in to separate the athletes.
The swoop between the two athletes is also enhanced by clubística rivalry. Maniatis, who plays for Olympiacos, fumed at the time of the discussion: "This is not the PAOK", referring to the Tzavellas club. A source tells the site that the situation has worsened in the hotel where Maniatis asked a placement of technical Fernando Santos. The Portuguese tried to calm fears by saying that situations like that are normal in practice, where there is "tension and passion."
Dissatisfied, Maniatis would claim exemption from the Greek national team and requested tickets to leave Brazil, but there was another conversation to dissuade him from the idea. The situation was apparently resolved with the entire delegation embarking for Christmas.
